Jman’s WEEK 3 Picks to Click
Another skeeson of picks to click? You better believe it! For those who aren’t familiar, this is a weekly blog I write previewing a matchup for each night, usually highlighting a player from each side. Also, I predict how I think the match will end up and usually it ends up being a hot topic around the bar. Sometimes controversial. All in all it’s just a fun way for me to comment on the week’s matches and express my unbiased opinions. Last year it went pretty well, so why not give it another shot.
Skee.F.F.’s vs. SKEE-Ball So Hard
Tuesday (7pm, Front Lane)
Match Outlook: This is a pair of teams who know each other well, and will go at it.
Jman’s Spotlight:
Kim Maziarka (Skee.F.F.’s) having a nice start to the skeeson after a solid rookskee year. A good and steady 300 roller. Also, a very good cheerleader for her team.
Natalie Breymeyer (SKEE-Ball So Hard) also having a pretty good start after a nice Skeeson V where she was in the mix for Most Improved.
Prediction: SKEE-Ball So Hard (909), Skee.F.F’s (825)
Sconskees vs. The Chubbskees
Wednesday (8pm, Back Lane)
Match Outlook: 2 teams that are trying to make a name for themselves on the toughest night in Skeeson VI.
Jman’s Spotlight:
Tom Seeberg (Sconskees), a second skeeson player, has the 3rd highest scoring average on this night. It is pretty impressive when you are competing with Alan Sochaki, Elliot Freirich, and Josh Reed to name a few.
Oliver Tse (The Chubbskees) has been an impressive rookskee through 2 weeks and will be in contention for Rookskee of the Year.
Prediction: Sconskees (915), The Chubbskees (876)
2 Gingers and a Wanker vs. Bottom Rimmers
Thursday (6pm, Front Lane)
Match Outlook: Another friendly matchup of 2 good teams to start off Thursday night.
Jman’s Spotlight:
Paul Darter (2 Gingers and a Wanker) has been off to his best start in quite a while, around Skeeson III. The middle game seems to have return as well as the hundo game improving.
Courtney Kenney (Bottom Rimmers) has also been off to her best start ever playing. Near the top 10 in scoring average and 8th in hundos.
Prediction: 2 Gingers and a Wanker (872), Bottom Rimmers (855)
JMAN’S Updated Skeeson VI Rankings
Skeeson VI (Thru Week 2)
My rankings got a lot of buzz in the pre-skeeson, so, I thought I’d update them with 2 weeks of play in the books. My rankings don’t have any reflection on the standings, rather, are more a view of how I see each team progressing.
Tuesday TOP 10
1. Skee Dog Night
2. Oops Skee Daiskee
3. R2Skee2
4. Charlie Skeens!
5. Mac n’ Skeez
6. Can’t Fight the Skeether
7. SKEE-Ball So Hard
8. BrewSKEE Ballers
9. Business in the front, Part-Skee in the back
10. Skeedish Bikini Team
Skee Dog Night wanted the #1 ranking and they got it after 2 posting two solid performances. Charlie Skeens has definitely gotten better, picking up where they left off in Skeeson V. Business in the front, Part-Skee in the back played much better in Week 2. I think they will continue their turnaround after a tough Week 1. Things might get interesting down the stretch as the “Rookskee” team scores continue to improve.
Wednesday Top 10
1. WhiSKEE Dix
2. The Big Bang Skee-ory
3. SKEENAGE MUTANT NINJA HUNDOS
4. K-SKEE and JoJo
5. Despicable Skee
6. Kamikaskees
7. Sconskees
8. Skee Wee’s Playhouse
9. Freak NaSKEE
10. Tenacious SKEE: The Roll of Destiny
The Big Bang Skee-ory, at least early on, is looking like a team that can be in the mix to come out of Wednesday. 867-5skee09 has struggled at the start, but if they can get a good week in during Week 3, I believe they have a chance to still make the playoffs. I’ve got O.M.SKEE on my bubble radar sitting, but I need to see their full team play together before they can crack the Top 10.
Thursday Top 10
1. Skeezus
2. Kick His Ass, Skee Bass
3. 2 Gingers and a Wanker
4. Skeez Nuts
5. Comskeedians
6. Bottom Rimmers
7. Skeetotalers
8. Notorious B.I.SKEE
9. The Punkskees
10. Skee ya later, Alligator
Skeezus has definitely earned the #1 ranking after being #3 in the pre-skeeson. After seeing Skeez Nuts get a nice win last week, I moved them up as high as #4 in the rankings. Notorious B.I.SKEE had a tough first week, but played better last week and I think they have a chance to make a run.
All for now. SKEE YA.
