JMAN, Picks to Click, SKEEBALL, The SKEE League

HELLO CHICAGO!!!

And welcome to the 7th installment of The SKEE League! My name is Jonathan, aka Jman, aka tall, black, skinny kid, aka “The Rollers’ Favorite.”  For those that have returned, welcome back! For those that are new, I write a weekly blog series offering my own personal thoughts about what’s happening within the league. Some like my opinions, while others question them. But, either way, this means you are all actually reading my posts (the best part of the skeemails.) This skeeson, I am going to try to mix it up a little bit, so you won’t know what will be written until you see it.

With the new skeeson upon us and the recent roster changes that have taken place, I thought this might be a good opportunity to discuss the possible stories that could come into play each night.  Also, I give a favorite to win each division in the regular skeeson. These are:

PRE-SKEESON HEADLINES

TUESDAY

Clearly, Tuesdays had the most turnover from the fall skeeson. Seven out of the ten teams that made the playoffs in Skeeson VI are not playing this time around. There are a quite a few teams that are new: In a Galaxy Far, Far Away…, The Dusty Dinklemans, Milwauskee’s Finest and Lobsters to name a few. There are also some teams making the switch from Wednesday or Thursday nights to Tuesdays, like Kick His Ass, Skee Bass, Strip Skeease and the SKEE-EO helmed, Skeevivors. Given the randomness of Tuesday nights, it will be interesting to see who will stand out in this group.

Favorite to win the division:  Skeedish Bikini Team

WEDNESDAY

Last fall, Wednesdays had the most depth when it came to good teams.  There were quite a few upsets in the playoffs as well, as even the lower seeded (8, 9, 10) teams were that good. This skeeson proves to be no different. With seven out of the ten playoff teams returning, spots will be hard to come by. Most of these teams including STD, S.M.N.H., and L-Skeezy’s still unnamed team, believe they can go far, but there are also teams who didn’t make the playoffs and feel they are ready to up their game, like Crazy for Swayskee and Riskee Bizness. All in all, team consistency will be the key to making the playoffs and receiving a high seed (1, 2, 3).

Favorite to win the division:  SKEENAGE MUTANT NINJA HUNDOS

THURSDAY

With the defending champions (Skeezus) residing on Thursday again, who will challenge them?  There are a couple of teams that could provide that challenge, such as 867-5skee09 and Veni Vidi Viskee. I look forward to seeing how these teams play because of their amazing playoff run in the Fall, and wonder if it will carry over? Also, how will the rest of the field play out? Plenty of playoffs spots will be available.

Favorite to win the division:  Skeezus

That is all for now! I look forward to meeting everybody this week!

Best of Luck,

Jman
