Week 1 is in the books!
The SKEE League has started back up, and like always, I was there for all three nights last week! I just have to say that I was quite impressed! So, for this blog, I will talk about my…First SKEEpressions!!!
Long time, no see…
This skeeson brought back two of my favorite rollers who made long awaited returns to the league after missing out for quite some time. Amanda Pavlecic (Skee Are Never Ever Getting Back Together) is playing in her first skeeson since our very first installment on October 2011. She was one of our better rollers in the league playing for the Green Monkeys (check Legends of the Hidden Temple). She has since struggled to find a team until Ashley Ward and Brian Wendle decided to jump in. A lot has changed since she last played, including her hair color and how popular the league has grown.
Matt Pendelton (Skee90X) played in the first four skeesons, even rolling on a couple championship teams. Not only he has been one heck of a roller, he is also a big help to the league. He took the last year off to delve into books and homework and is now back rolling with Lauren Gillaspey and Elliot Freirich (SKEEZY/TBD/NOT SKEEZY TO PLEASE). On behalf of The SKEE League, it is great to have Amanda Pavlecic and Matt Pendelton back and wishing the best of luck for you and your teams!
My first time…
When a new skeeson arrives, you have your veterans and rookskees. Eighteen brand new teams are in the league this skeeson and already have made an impact in numerous ways, like team uniforms. I give credit to teams like Skee Amigos (Jenn, Sarah, and Kelley) and In a Galaxskee Far, Far Away (Annette, Lynette, and Yesenia) for coming prepared from the start with their team spirit BEFORE even stepping in front of the machine for their first roll. It’s safe to say the SKEE-EO and I were very impressed and hopefully they will be around for the long haul because we like teams like these.
This skeeson rookskees are already stepping up to the plate. On Thursday, I watched parts of a match between Your Momskees (Rob, Ashley, and Josh) and Skeet Skeet Skeet (Heather, Joslyn, and Jesse). I have to say that this was one of the best rookskee matches I have seen. Both teams were going back and forth, while quickly learning the tips I showed them. Rob Gregory was the best player in that match with a score of 318. As a matter of fact, a lot of rookskees were able to pick the game up very quickly including Jack Quinn (323) of The Dream Skeem, Matt Napierski (334) of Fort Whiskee, and Kris Stenglein (347) of Beautskee and the Beasts.
Teams/Players of the Week
So, who else performed well in Week 1?
Tuesday
Team: Skeedish Bikini Team
At least through a week, this team has made my prediction look good.
Player: Scott Tucker (Milwauskee’s Best)
This Milwaukee skeeball transplant has lived up to the billing so far.
Wednesday
Team: O.M.SKEE
In the midst of the strong competition on this night, this team looked the most impressive.
Player: Lindsay Stevens (O.M.SKEE)
Had the highest score (391) and the highest amount of hundos (20) on Wednesday.
Thursday
Team: Skeezus
Wow!
Player: Tim Van Vugt (Skeezus)
Picking up where he left off from last skeeson.
That is it for my blog! Best of luck in Week 2!
